FAQs
What is the best way to contact you for a tattoo appointment?
Using the submission form on the homepage is the best way to make sure I get your request with all the information that I need to make the booking process smoother. If you prefer to just email me at shiv.tuck@gmail.com, please include all the information from that contact form. It cuts down on the back and forth. Please allow up to two weeks for replies. If you do not hear from me, please follow up by email in case something got lost.
Are your books open?
While I do try to only book myself out about two months in advance, my books are always open in case you are planning for further down the line. This helps with a rolling scheduling process that still allows me to plan for my life as well.
What do you charge?
I currently charge $180 per hour with a $100 minimum. I am more than happy to discuss and work with your budget on your project and can typically draw to meet your needs. Please note that January, 1st 2025, I will be raising my rates at the shop to $200 per hour with the same $100 minimum.
Do you have a cancellation list I can get on?
Short answer: no. Long answer: I have found that when I have last minute cancellations to reschedules, it is a great opportunity for me to connect with myself and find inspiration outside of cramming my schedule. It makes me a better artist and better person. If you have a particularly fun project, I will sometimes offer to shift people up to a sooner date when people reschedule not last minute.
Do you require a deposit?
I do require a $100 non-refundable deposit for your tattoo appointment. It allows both of us to feel confident that the other will be at the appointment and ready to tattoo. My cancellation policy is that I need a 48-hour notice of rescheduling or cancelling. I am not a monster; life happens and emergencies happen. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please just talk and share with me and we can find a compassionate solution.
What payment methods do you take?
I take cash, card, Venmo, mystical items of historical importance, and the sounds of my enemies, but let’s just stick to the first three for tax purposes. I do not have a preference of which you use.
Can I see the drawing beforehand?
Unless we are doing a very large project where many things need to be approved, I will have the drawing ready for you at the time of your appointment. I schedule extra time (uncharged) in case we need to adjust any aspect of the drawing. If you are worried that there would be a miscommunication in what you want and how I interpret that, we can schedule a consult appointment to go over everything for you.
Do you do consultations?
Yes! I do consults on weekday mornings (10:30am) except on Tuesdays which are my days off.
Do you do touchups and coverups?
If the touchup is for a tattoo that I have previously done, I will touch it up for free. For coverups and touchups of other artists’ work, I work at my hourly rate. Most coverups will require a consultation appointment just so we can be sure we are on the same page.
Will you tattoo over scars?
Yes and no; it just depends on the quality, age, and texture of the scar. If you are wanting to cover any kind of scar, please let me know, and we can happily set up a consultation appointment.
